McLellan Software Design was originally formed in 1988, by Julie McLellan as a partnership to provide software services to various businesses and industry. Initially, the Company provided a Tetra solution, based around Tetra 2000 and Tetra Chameleon Accounting Packages. The bespoke element used was Informix 4GL.

In 1992, Brian McLellan a Chartered Accountant by

profession, joined the business and it was decided at that stage to form a Limited Company. In addition, at this point in time, McLellan Software Design Limited decided to become a Sage Line 100 Development Centre. This decision was taken because we felt the Sage range of products offered a better choice and more cost effective solution for our clients. Bespoke programming was undertaken in Retrieve 4GL, Sage's own fourth generation language.

In 1994, we became the authorised Accounting Centre for the Nottinghamshire area to provide software services to accountants in our locality.

Sage introduced Sage Solutions Centres in April 1996. McLellan Software Design Limited were one of the first dealers to become a Sage Solutions Centre.

With the onset of Windows for both Sage Line 50 and Line 100 Accounts we now offer development for our clients in both Visual Basic and C++. The McLellan Software Design Limited team currently stands at ten and it is anticipated that the Company will continue to grow at a steady rate, as our client base expands.

Late in 1999 MSD became an ISP under the banner of MSD Magic. This enables us to provide access for users to have their own Domain Name. Web Page Design can be provided for our clients and any new prospective users wishing to have a presence on the Web. Web Authoring can be tailored from a simple Web Page Design through to a full e-commerce function with full on line Web trading.
